About this site

Hi, I'm a busy women with a tight budget - just like you I'll bet. In todays economy we can't take a single penny for granted, especially at the grocery store. I know coupons are a GREAT way to find a good deal but - I'm sorry - I just don't have the time or patience to clip, sort and organize coupons. Not to mention the fact that it seem 60% of them are for things I will NEVER buy.

And then it hit me, why not shop using the sales the grocery stores offer every week? There are good deals on a variety of items right in front of us everyday! An added benefit of planning your meals around the weekly sales at the gorcery store in taking advantage of fresh, local and seasonal foods. The benefits of seasonal eating are being discovered constantly. You can add much needed variety to your diet and feel a little more connected to the seasons around you. Nowadays we can find frozen fish from Alaska everyday, but wouldn't you rather eat oranges picked fresh yesterday from a farm 2 hours away? As it turns out, because those oranges are local, they were cheaper to ship here - which reduces costs. So not only is it fresher - but it's cheaper too! Eating from the weekly sales ensures that dinner is upbeat and new. The hum drum of tater tots and chicken every week is a thing of the past!

So - log on with me every Wednesday where I post meals centered around making the most of the weekly Winn-Dixie advertiser. My goal is a well balanced dinner and maybe a dessert or two. At least 50 to 90 percent of the ingredients will be on sale in this week's advertiser and I will post the discounts so we can see how much we've saved.

Let's start saving!!
